“An apple a day…” Everyone can complete that saying!
Access to chiropractic and spinal manipulation for Fernandina Beach back pain
and neck pain sufferers is said to do the same. Access
needs to be just as simple as access to apples! According
to research, chiropractic and spinal manipulation relieve pain and diminish
the need for escalated treatments and tests when they are clearly accessible
to back and neck pain sufferers. (Even dogs benefited
from veterinary chiropractic spinal manipulation!) Amelia Chiropractic Clinic offers
gentle spinal manipulation via a well-informed chiropractic treatment
plan.
CHIROPRACTIC CARE AND SPINAL MANIPULATION AND BACK PAIN
MANAGEMENT
Spinal manipulation is a primary treatment at
Amelia Chiropractic Clinic with good reason! A rat study regarding the
effect of manipulation and mobilization and sham treatment on reducing
neuroinflammation in acute lumbar radiculopathy (leg pain) showed
that manipulation and mobilization did a better
job of relieving pain. Manipulation was a little quicker
in delivering relief and decreasing severe
radiculopathy. (1) Spinal manipulation and mobilization are leading
treatments at Amelia Chiropractic Clinic for back pain and radiculopathy. We’re
here for you as soon as you bring your back pain and/or leg pain to our office!
Amelia Chiropractic Clinic also understands
that our Fernandina Beach chiropractic patients are motivated
to receive in-office care but not always as excited to do
their at-home care. They’re not alone! 89% of chiropractic
patients reported making their
appointments. That’s the easier part! 82% said their chiropractor’s
recommendations for treatment and at-home care (stretching and exercise) made sense, but only 44% of them actually did the at-home care. (2) We know it’s tough to make
time at home, and we will keep doing our best at
every visit to manage your spinal condition…and supportively
remind you to do yours!
SPINAL MANIPULATION AND ACCESS TO CHIROPRACTIC LESSENED
NEED FOR MORE ADVANCED CARE
Researchers wondered just how access
to chiropractic influenced medical care for older adults with spinal pain. In an analysis
of Medicare claims for 39,278 older adult chiropractic users, less
access to chiropractic care expanded the use of medical
services (primary care physician visits and spine surgeries) for spine pain conditions.
The researchers likened this to an additional cost of $114,967
per 1000 beneficiaries ($391 million nationally). (3) That’s a
lot of money and suffering. Amelia Chiropractic Clinic makes itself accessible
to our Fernandina Beach spine pain sufferers! Further, 42%
of neck pain patients experience escalated
treatments like imaging, injection, emergency room, surgery. Neck pain patients
managed with spinal manipulation – 90% of which is done
by chiropractors in the US – were less likely to go
onto escalated care. Only 26% of spinal manipulation patients underwent escalated care whereas 46% of neck pain sufferers who sought
other types of care did. They
were at twice the risk of treatment escalation. (4) Amelia Chiropractic Clinic delivers
spinal manipulation. Your Fernandina Beach chiropractor is experienced
in performing safe, gentle, relieving spinal manipulation.
EVEN DOGS BENEFIT FROM CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT
There are chiropractic colleagues who also are quite
good at doing spinal manipulation on animals! Interesting!
Some dog breeds like boxers have a tendency to develop
spondylosis deformans, a spinal disease distinguished by disc
degeneration and bone spurs. A study of boxer puppies from 8 weeks old to one year of age compared puppies treated with
veterinary chiropractic each month to same aged boxers not
treated with chiropractic. At one year of age, the treated
puppies were found to experience spondylosis significantly
less (only 25% were found to have it on imaging) versus the
control puppies (46.5% had it on imaging). This implies that
veterinary chiropractic treatment may successfully reduce
the probably of young boxers developing spondylosis. (5)
Our Fernandina Beach furry companions are helped with chiropractic
treatment, too!
